I installed these in my garage opens LiftMaster 3800 through this past weekend. It lasted a few hours, not because the system very complicated, but only because there are many things to do during the installation. The instructions are very complete and accurate and the opener works extremely well.

When I got home last night after using the opener three days, I noticed that the light is broken. I checked the power, he replaced the bulbs and tried to reprogram it. The bottom line is that the light just installed is not responding to commands from the main unit and wall control. Unlike traditional garage door, the light is “Wireless” in which he receives orders to turn on and off remotely. Simply plug into an outlet somewhere in the garage. It was apparently a customer service scenario, Chamberlain was not prepared. Despite their model number of my representatives not to become familiar with the fact that the light was not part of the motor assembly. After providing the model number of the light itself, we have begun to make progress. However, when we reached a point where he should not do troubleshooting, and light does not always had an awkward silence. After about 10 minutes of silence (although I could hear voices in the background), I asked if she was still there. She said yes, and she needed to speak to a supervisor. They did and that the authority wanted to install “hard wire” the wall of the engine. It was not enough to explain what that meant. The wall is wired to the engine, but with 30 meters of wire. All other functions of the work process control wall so I knew it was not the problem. The engine block was 11 feet above the ground and I was not digging on the ranking, you move the car and get there knowing that I have nothing on the engine block to attach the light. After several requests from the supervisor refused to talk to me and they reluctantly agreed to replace the light. Overall, I spent over an hour in this appeal.

leave. . . . I really wanted to open the thing for my poor customer experience. But this would not be fair. With the exception of this problem light, I am with this opening, I give it 5 stars have impressed.

The first game is extremely quiet and smooth. I replaced Opens son artisans driven by chains from the Liftmaster 3800 and the difference is day and night. My bedroom is above my garage so it is important to have a quiet opening, which is mounted on the ceiling (which is of course the bedroom floor, did not get). The door opens much faster than the classic first game, I replaced and slowed travel to a graceful stop directly outside the preset limit. On the downswing, the door closes at the same pace as the opener old.

The standard set of features with the first game is exceptional. It comes with a controller Nice blue backlit LCD-wall that displays the time and temperature. The wall unit gives you status reports and also includes a motion sensor on the light when you enter the garage. You can also control the program new remotes with the wall, instead of increasing, and press the button to know “on the engine block (though you can do if you want). The remote control provided with the device, a beautiful blue LED light, which, if they feel your hand close to him. It’s great when you’re in your fishing in the dark for the remote console. Finally, the bolt is a nice feature Added a security option.

The installation is not complicated. The hardest part was the installation of the collar that connects the drive shaft to the Assembly torsion bar. They use a kind of security screw super-duper it is difficult to turn the screw begins. Your head Allen then make sure you have a solid, hardened allen wrench. There not much room, either to take the advice given in the manual and the position of the ring in a way you can get all the screws. The only tool you need for handymen average may be a little metal 4.3 “for drilling the bolt hole. It’s a bit big and drilling assemblies, most just go to 02.01. “

The programming is easy if you follow the instructions. I simply programmed the door ’s stopped within minutes and is self-learning, the power limits based on a complete cycle of operation of the door. opener HomeLink is compatible and I programmed my two vehicles, the door to operate smoothly. ” br />
Finally, a word to the wise, most accessories will start at the door with the number “3. I ordered a keyboard and a remote door-door key, and both were incorrect. Just because a device says it does not + compatible security, he works with the opening of 3800. Make sure you get a device that works with the Security + and is also used for opener with a purple learn button.

Let me start by saying that not buying a garage door opener when you’re away can be suspended with a more traditional style, ceiling, door opener length. My new house is a support bar as two 4.3 “has been authorized to install behind my first choice, the Chamberlain Whisper Drive ½ HP. I did not know that until I ordered it, but fortunately, Amazon been great, as usual, and took the unit back for the full purchase price. />
My neighbor extraordinary voice against the election of 3800 Chamberlain was opener jackshaft stating that they had not considered this option and the local Home Depot has stopped selling, because the unity of all the problems with the installation of Damn Thing. “C This is partly true, Home Depot and Lowe’s, the local authorities not to sell that unit. Why did they stand it anymore, I do not know for sure but you can not buy them locally.
< , br /> I’ll say this about the 3800 Jackshaft Chamberlain opens – if you do not have excellent troubleshooting skills to examine the views on a different model or professional installation. I I lost a whole Saturday to install the device, and I have tomorrow until the end of the last books to son and cleaning the garage.
:-( br my garage door is a Wayne Dalton, and it is quite new, so the questions of balance and good installation have been provided for me. The door is wide, about 16 ‘and is located approximately 8 meters high. It is a coupe, aluminum door, and he seemed “right balance” by testing, I felt it was a perfect candidate for this device.
    ;
The installation of the equipment is very simple. If you on the basic tools at home (one cordless / electric drill, a few exercises, some screwdrivers, level, pliers cutters, hammers, etc.), you should have no problem with the installation itself. Now the fun begins!

There are (3) parts of the plant, which are absolutely necessary to properly run the device, but the information in the vague sense. For your own mind, I’ll list them if you shout obscenities at the engineer who designed this unit, you can relate to my experience and save your blood pressure a few points to find. :-)

    1) The Wall Mount Control unit: It must be properly connected to the device to operate in the OPEN / CLOSE operation. The problem is, for all links leading thoughts and placed in the unit, you are forced, 16.7 “inch approve thin wire and wrap around a standard Phillips bands. You are then it works for the screws in the motherboard of cheap plastic unit, whose house is the ‘control’. It is simply the cheapest, most stupid piece of the whole system. A series of quick links, or expand a real no son connection significantly, the average person can install this device yourself.
    2) The “protector” of the system: it is essentially electronic eyes off the garage door where the wrath of your child / dog / cat neighbor / get in the door Close everything. The main features are that one eye color is a light yellow solid that is your “Send” unity and a solid color green, and it is the “receiver” unit. The installation of these devices at the same level and the assurance that they “see” the other can provide a solid invisible beam predict that defects will reverse the travel of the door. These must be properly set up for the device is working properly.
    3) The “tension cables of the monitor: Last but not least, is this pain in the @ ss-unit a complete misnomer. There is no monitoring of voltage, which occur with the placement of the device. It has a sort of oblivion circuit, it is my name, but basically it requires pressure to open the door to secure it, and it does not need pressure on them, ensuring the door closed. I spent over two hours trying to understand this, so beware of this information. I changed the implementation of this device is at least five times trying to operate properly. It is the centerpiece of the equipment at the garage door too closely, after it was opened.

My garage door has a sort of “sting” in him when he begins to close. This “trick”, or the sudden appearance, causes a quick game of “tension” of the cable is to open / close the garage door. If this thing “would happen would be to close this thing down ‘and reverse travel of the door prematurely. This was my KicKing @ ss in front for at least one hour while maintaining an indefinite period with Chamberlain” technical support “it seemed to me a way to test the device. It is with the door closed, there is no tension at all on this device. The device is equipped with a spring self-closing forging unity and rolling “handle” near the cable forces built. If the door is closed, causes the internal spring to close the handle to another thread effectively closing the circuit. if the door is open, this unit is “digging” the source that the route through the rope that is used in the process, so that the circuit is “open” is closed. With the circuit open state, and if the rest equipment is installed properly, the door closes properly.

So after a few trips to the local hardware store and lost much of Saturday, I had reached the door and the installation seems to work properly. I have now opened and closed the garage door more than 30 times, testing both the wired wall remote and wireless in the vehicle, away from various entry points and the road. The scope is good but not exceptional. Some seem to be the one that hit the “shield” of double insulation, double-leaf /> garage walls,
This review after a few months of use will be updated and you know leave it as is.

Functionally, it is a very solid, very functional open space saving garage door. When the installation has been completed more direct (by repairing the wall mounted cable connections, control and elimination of the “power cables” monitor), I think it would be a good choice for your home.

, As for me, I experience little satisfaction for my neighbor reputation in the rain in the hope, because they are still without a can opener, during autumn-winter / open their garage door manually while I right train, warm and dry. :-)

; for you when you use this product, I wish you good luck with the installation!

I had a Wayne Dalton iDrive changed (to change to make work very well as the LM-3800) the door to my high pressure, but after three years began to show wear. The LM 3800 was the obvious choice because it is made for this type of application.

The downside is the installation that they can do much more than the directions, especially in finding a mounting location for the switch voltage cable is included. Indeed, it is all worked out and the opener works great!

A deficiency, the WD-opens a wall uses the wireless console, but the 3800 does not have such functionality. For this reason, I was the son of running from the center of the ceiling (where the home opener has been installed and where the house was wired) on the side of the door to the 3800th I also had to ensure the security lighting, as the original lines also went over the center of the ceiling.

I did my time in the installation and everything went well, but I have a problem. This opens uses gravity to lower the door. The problem with what I raise the door all the way up, so I have to use the maximum size of the opening of the door. If you do this, none of the door hangs below the curve on the way to the door to receive. I ended up with the door opening at least one foot below the top of the opening. It would be a problem with driving a high position in the door (I have a truck camper that we store in this building). Customer Service, both in the manufacturer of doors and Liftmaster were of no help. Two possible solutions come to mind, but I have not tried it yet. Facing the back of the title, so that the door is tilted down in front if she could help track or an elastic rope, anchored below the halfway point in the vertical track is a certain tension door standing position is taken, but not affected when he was down. (I hate doing the engineering for the manufacturer). As far as I know, there is no warning about this potential problem in any description of this product. Other than this problem (which can be serious when you drive through the great need of door), I think it’s a great product and is the quietest I’ve ever heard. It has a quality feel to it.

  5. I have to install this opening easier and faster than the opener of the chain of standard type. Very well thought out, and I found the instructions clear and easy to understand. I had no problems with installation, particularly in view of my “average” mechanical skills. After completing the installation, everything worked perfectly the first time

I use this on a door 12′x12 ‘in a building that is 42′x50′, or even taking into account the distance I had to cover, if the thread was enough to get where I had to go. I have two more goals to one day and I’ll definitely go with this new model. />
